Cherie Colleen Miller (nee Martin)

Following a brief illness, Cherie Colleen (nee Martin) of Grand Island NY, beloved spouse of Thomas A. Miller, was called home to the Lord on January 6, 2026. Cherie was the daughter of Earl and Verda Martin, both deceased. Cherie is survived by her husband Thomas, her sons Peter (Laurie) Martin, Earl (Sara Graham) Miller, and daughter Theresa (Dr. Glen) Datres of Pleasant Valley NY, one daughter, Mary Knab is deceased. Aunt to Timothy (Katie) Miller of Nashville Tennessee. Cherie was grandmother to Ariel (Salvatore) Carlino, Tessa May Brown of New Zealand, Christine (Dr. Michael) Cippola, Sara Knab, Ryan (Gretchen) Martin, Orendeal (Alex) Miller, and Jessie Miller. Cherie delighted in being great-grandmother to Ellanna Angela and Savatore Vincent Carlino, Grace Anne, Olivia Kelley and Ethan Michael Cipolla, Cecelia Rose, and Isabelle Jude Martin. Cherie graduated from NCCC in 1972 after studying Nursing. Professionally, Cherie became a perioperative nurse and received certification from and was active in the American Operative Room Nurses (AORN) association as a CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room). Cherie served in operating rooms primarily in the Millard and Kaleida Health systems. For brief periods, Cherie managed operating rooms at Lafayette General, Sheen Memorial and Lockport Memorial Hospitals. Celebrating Christmas, observing daily changes in the Niagara River, boating on the River, enjoying chocolate ice cream and spending time with great-grandchildren were favorite pastimes. Throughout life, Cherie played paino and sung in multiple parish choirs. Friends may call Sunday, Jan 11 from 4-7 at Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Rd., Grand Island. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 at St. John DeLasalle, 8477 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. Flowers gratefully declined in lieu of donations to Salesian Missions or St. Joseph Food Pantry, Niagara Falls.

Robert S. Black

Of Grand Island, beloved husband of Sally A. Black (deceased), dear father of Dennis R. (Leilani) Black, John S. (Lisa) Black, Hamilton P. (Jennifer) Black, and Susan J. (Thomas) Utz. Also survived by four brothers, two sisters (two others predeceased), numerous nieces and nephews, ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Proudly born in South Buffalo in 1933 to Mr. and Mrs. R. Spencer Black. Bob received a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Syracuse University after Korean War military service. Over many years, his business and industry experiences took him around the country and around the world (multiple times), always in colorful ties, pocket squares, and socks. Away from work, always with a quick wit, he enjoyed family, travels with Sally during their 62 year marriage, drawing and water color painting, music, dining out, and Buffalo architecture. Important leisure pursuits included reading, martinis, cigars, and the Buffalo Launch Club. Friends and family may call Thursday 4-7 P.M. Kaiser Funeral Home, 1990 Whitehaven Road, Grand Island. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Martin-in-the-Fields Church, 2587 Baseline Road, Grand Island. Husband of Marilee Morath. Father of Bethany Lovern, Andrew (Michelle) Morath and Paul Morath. Grandfather of Connor and Caden Lovern, Christian Morath and arriving in March, Baby Girl Morath. Brother of Joseph (Darlene) Morath, Phyllis (Enzo) Veneziano, Mary (Don) Watling, Ruthie (Frank) Fudala, Janet (Tony) Failla and Valeri (Jerry) Lucas. Donald is predeceased by siblings Frank (Marlene) Morath, Audrey Morath, Barbara (Richard) Curto, Joan (Jack) Hutzler, Delores (Irv) Peacock and Marlene (Orie) Reeves. Nice, Pamela, age 73, a lifelong resident of Buffalo, passed away on December 30, 2025, in Buffalo. She was born on May 28, 1952, in Buffalo. Pamela was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim Nice; her parents Patricia and Louis Matalone, and her sisters Paula (Yaeger) Matalone and Susie (Shea) Matalone. Pamela is survived by her loving son Adam Bonaldi and his wife Alisse, and her cherished grandsons, Anthony and Nicholas who brought great joy to her life. She is also survived by her stepson, James Nice Jr.; her nephew Jason Shea; and her nieces and nephews Ashley Marchese (husband Charlie Marchese and children Louis and Gianna) and Zachary Yaeger, as well as many dear friends whose love and companionship meant so much to her and who are too numerous to list individually. In honor of Pams courageous fight with cancer, her family remembers her strength, resilience, and the grace she showed throughout her journey. Pam will be remembered for her love of family, her enduring strength, and the lasting memories she leaves behind with all who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend special gratitude to Debbie Ward, a dear and devoted friend, who lovingly assisted Pamela with her doctor’s appointments and, most importantly, filled her life with friendship, care, and companionship. A Celebration of Life will be held on February 7 at 11 AM at Kaiser Funeral Home 1950 Whitehaven Rd., Grand Island. In honor of Pams courageous fight with cancer, the family invites all who knew and loved her to remember her strength, resilience, and the grace she showed throughout her journey.

Khreis, Sheila Haggett, December 17, 1935 - December 12, 2025, reunited with her beloved husband, Ibrahim A. R. Khreis. Born in Bristol, England, Sheila was the cherished daughter of the late Anne Turner and William D. Haggett; sister of the late Hazel (Wally) Merrick and John (Carol) Haggett. Devoted mother of Linda (Philip) Russo, David (Sally), Alan (Cindie), Susan, Donald, Carol (Jay) Giambra, Jeffrey (Stacy), Janice (Ryan) Shea, Barbara (Al) Manzo, and Joshua; beloved grandmother of Joseph (Kaitlin), Cheyenne, Ashley (Nicholas), Sydney, Katelyn, Samantha, Raven, Bristol, and Charlotte; treasured great-grandmother of Dustin, Alina, and Duncan.
