Following a brief illness, Cherie Colleen (nee Martin) of Grand Island NY, beloved spouse of Thomas A. Miller, was called home to the Lord on January 6, 2026. Cherie was the daughter of Earl and Verda Martin, both deceased. Cherie is survived by her husband Thomas, her sons Peter (Laurie) Martin, Earl (Sara Graham) Miller, and daughter Theresa (Dr. Glen) Datres of Pleasant Valley NY, one daughter, Mary Knab is deceased. Aunt to Timothy (Katie) Miller of Nashville Tennessee. Cherie was grandmother to Ariel (Salvatore) Carlino, Tessa May Brown of New Zealand, Christine (Dr. Michael) Cippola, Sara Knab, Ryan (Gretchen) Martin, Orendeal (Alex) Miller, and Jessie Miller. Cherie delighted in being great-grandmother to Ellanna Angela and Savatore Vincent Carlino, Grace Anne, Olivia Kelley and Ethan Michael Cipolla, Cecelia Rose, and Isabelle Jude Martin. Cherie graduated from NCCC in 1972 after studying Nursing. Professionally, Cherie became a perioperative nurse and received certification from and was active in the American Operative Room Nurses (AORN) association as a CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room). Cherie served in operating rooms primarily in the Millard and Kaleida Health systems. For brief periods, Cherie managed operating rooms at Lafayette General, Sheen Memorial and Lockport Memorial Hospitals. Celebrating Christmas, observing daily changes in the Niagara River, boating on the River, enjoying chocolate ice cream and spending time with great-grandchildren were favorite pastimes. Throughout life, Cherie played paino and sung in multiple parish choirs. Friends may call Sunday, Jan 11 from 4-7 at Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Rd., Grand Island. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10 at St. John DeLasalle, 8477 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls. Flowers gratefully declined in lieu of donations to Salesian Missions or St. Joseph Food Pantry, Niagara Falls.
