I am disappointed to only learn about Dave's passing many days later. I worked with him 45 years ago, as a young inexperienced engineer. I knew Dave as a caring and forthright person, a calm and knowledgeable leader who worked to complete his crew's assignments with minimal assistance. He taught me a lot, and I looked to him as a lasting friend.

We golfed several times and remained friendly in the years since. He was an incredibly capable and as honest as any person I ever knew. His dedication to his family was a marvelous attribute that doubtless helped sustain his spirits as he cared for his wife. I’m sad that the breakfast we promised to get together will not be.
